Alpamayo Mountain
Description
Located as part of the Andes mountain range, this snow-capped peak reaches an altitude of 5,947 meters above sea level. To access it, start from the city of Caraz, which is about 460 km from Lima. You enter through there, following a route of affirmed terrain, until you reach the town of Cashapampa. From that point, it's about 22 km through the Santa Cruz Gorge to the Quisuarpampa sector, where you take the northern detour to Base Camp at around 4,300 meters above sea level.
