Thanks to wind and water erosion for over 70 million years, whimsical monuments resembling human and animal silhouettes have been formed. The Huayllay Stone Forest has a significant tourist movement, mainly by national visitors, but in recent years, the number of foreign visitors has been increasing due to the Ruraltur event, which takes place in September and focuses on adventure and nature tourism. Visitors to this wonder of Peru can also enjoy a relaxing soak in the thermal baths of the area, and observe the wildlife such as deer, vicuñas, mountain cats, skunks, hawks, and partridges. Among the flora, queñuales, huamampintas, putagas, and others stand out. Another great feature of this place is its spectacular starry sky at night.Location
