Huacho

Huacho is a small city on the northern coast of Lima, boasting impressive beaches, tourist attractions, and exquisite gastronomy. The most popular adventure sport practiced here is off-road 4x4 driving.

Huacho is mainly known for its fine sandy beaches and peaceful waters. Among the most popular ones are: Hornillos, Colorado, El Paraíso, Chica beach, Punta Salinas, Centinela, and Las Yeseras.

Location

It is located at Km. 148 on the Pan-American Highway North, in the Huaura province, approximately 2 hours from the city of Lima.

Climate and Temperature

It has a desert climate, with scarce rainfall throughout the year. The average annual temperature ranges between 19°C and 21°C. In summer, it can reach up to 30°C.

How to Get There

Public Transportation:

The best option is to take buses heading north at the Fiori terminal in the Independencia district. The fare ranges from 10 to 15 soles.

Private Transportation:

Take the northern highway until kilometer 148 where the district of Huacho is located.
