Full Day Tour to La Albufera de Medio Mundo

It is a Regional Conservation Area located in the district of Vegueta, within the province of Huaura in the Lima region.

The beautiful lagoon, surrounded by reeds and totora plants, is about 7 km long; this magical place is suitable for contemplating what has become a resting point on the route of thousands of migratory birds. Its waters are green due to the great variety of aquatic vegetation found in the underground waters, considered by many as medicinal waters.

The lagoon is constantly connected to the nearby sea water, forming a true oasis in the middle of the desert. An impressive effect occurs when the sun sets on the immense greenish lagoon, giving the place an atmosphere of peace and harmony. In the middle of the lagoon lies the Love Island. It is amazing the amount of royal herons that nest and flutter above the totora plants, you can also see reddish Colombian ducks, coots, grebes, and cormorants. The lagoon is home to five species of fish: mullets, carps, pintadillas, cachuelas, and mojarras.

Among the entertainment possibilities are taking a ride on a totora reed horse, swimming in its amazing warm waters, observing the wide variety of flora and fauna present, and walking along the lagoon.
