Vallunaraju Mountain

The Nevado Vallunaraju is located to the East of the District of Independencia and belongs to the Huascarán National Park. It presents a steep and rocky topography at the base of the glacier, constituting one of the several peaks of the Chinchey Massif.

This snow-capped mountain is characterized by its quick access, acclimatization, and being one of the best viewpoints in the Cordillera Blanca, ideal also for mountaineering courses and practicing adventure sports such as climbing.

How to get to Nevado Vallunaraju

We must access through the Llaca Gorge until reaching the trail to the moraine field, where the 1st camp is set up to later ascend the moraine until reaching the glacier tongue and from there start the ascent to the summit, the return is made through the same route.

It has a frigid climate, at night it can drop to -16°C.
