Trekking in Huancaya is one of the most popular adventure sports since there is so much to explore and discover in the Nor Yauyos - Huancaya Landscape Reserve.

Where is it done?
The trekking starts in the town of Huancaya where you can wander through the streets and tourist attractions of the town.
The trekking routes vary depending on the agency you contract with, however, to reach the reserve and be able to observe its wonderful lagoons and waterfalls, you must travel by car to the Huancaya Landscape Reserve to start the trekking day.
Routes
You must walk upstream to reach the lagoons of Huancaya. Most used routes for trekking:
- Through the pre-Inca terraces of Ancovilca
- Ashincuy Lagoon
- In the Forest of Love and Pachachaca spas and waterfalls - Fisherman's Route and the hanging bridge
Distance
The trekking distances are within the entire perimeter of the Nor Yauyos-Cochas Landscape Reserve of Huancaya.
Difficulty Level
In the town, the difficulty is low and in the Huancaya Landscape Reserve, it is Medium-Moderate.
Travel Time
The journey to the Reserve is approximately 20 minutes, the trekking can take you all day depending on the plans. Some trekking plans last all day, others, depending on the distance, you can walk for only 1 hour and then go by car.
Season
April - December, you can also do it between January - March but it gets complicated as it is the rainy season.
