It is a short route, perfect for a family outing. The path is very well marked, and visiting the Huanano waterfalls (or Huanano waterfall) is a great option to enjoy the freshness and adventure offered by this place in San Jerónimo de Surco.

Where It Takes Place

The route starts from San Jerónimo de Surco, along a well-marked pedestrian trail. Before starting, a small fee of S/. 2 must be paid at the Tourist booth of the district, where you will also need to register. After a 15-minute walk, you will reach the Ruins of Huanano, a set of 69 stone buildings with cave-like shapes and underground passages, which belonged to the Huarpa culture from Ayacucho.

After a 10-minute walk, you will reach a viewpoint from where you can observe the entire valley and part of the district of San Jerónimo de Surco. Five more minutes of walking will lead you to the Huanano waterfall, a beautiful natural attraction. Here, you can take a dip in the waterfall or simply enjoy the tranquility of nature by lying on the grass.
