Surfing at Punta Rocas Beach

Punta Rocas Beach is a resort in the south of Lima, which is part of the district of Punta Negra. This beach is one of the most famous and visited beaches in Lima by surfers, both national and foreign.

The waves at Punta Rocas are of the Reef-break type, and stand out for being long, strong, large, and having a well-defined tubular section. Because Punta Rocas Beach usually offers classic waves, its sea is only recommended for surfers of intermediate level and above.

Punta Rocas Beach enjoys good waves throughout the year, so it is not uncommon to find between 10 to 30 surfers per day in the area. If there is optimal swell in its sea, it is possible to find waves of great perfection that can reach up to 4 meters in height.
