📝 Route Description
Surfing is an adventure sport that involves riding and maneuvering on a wave while standing on a board. Peru is considered the birthplace of surfing, one of the most popular destinations in Latin America to practice this sport and host to many championships, including the National Surfing Championship, which has had over 30 editions.

In the early 20th century, Carlos Dogny Larco, founder of the surfing movement in Peru, promoted the development of this adventure sport throughout South America, with the main headquarters being the beaches (Makaha and Waikiki) of the Terrazas, Waikiki, and Pacific Sur clubs in the Balta area.
Where to Surf in Miraflores?
The favorite spot for surfing enthusiasts is the beaches "Punta Roquitas" and "Makaha", as the waves are more challenging than in other beaches within the 5-kilometer stretch. Additionally, beginners can find academies and classes offered around the beach to learn how to surf.
