📝 Route Description
Paracas has one of the best surfing spots in Peru, we are talking about Isla de San Gallán or Sangayán which has the best right wave in the country, classified as a 5-star wave worldwide for its tubular shape and extensive ride.

This adventure sport takes place on Isla San Gallán, a unique place where surfers hit the waves amidst hundreds of sea lions. The island is located in front of the Paracas Peninsula, about 5 km away. It covers an area of over 9 km2.
Its sea is influenced by the cold waters of the Humboldt Current. On the island stands the lighthouse that illuminates up to 20 miles around, which is used as a guide for boats sailing off its coasts.
How to get to Isla San Gallán
At kilometer 245 of the Panamericana Sur highway is El Chaco beach in the bay of Paracas, where they offer boat transportation services to the island, the journey lasts almost 1 and a half hours.
Distance
Its lowest waves are 1 meter high and the highest reach almost 3 meters. The length of the wave is 200 meters, which is one of the reasons why it is classified as a 5-star wave worldwide.
Level
Due to the large waves it presents, it is recommended for surfers with an intermediate level in this sport.
Season
The best season for surfing on the island is between the months of March to October.
