Sandboarding in Conache Dunes

The favorite spot for sandboarders is the Conache Dunes, located 15 minutes from Laredo and 30 minutes from Trujillo taking the Industrial highway, which contains dunes over 80 meters high with slopes ranging from 35 to 50 degrees.

Conache is also known for its Cajamarca carnival and for having the most beautiful landscapes in Trujillo. It features a lagoon, carob forests, and a natural viewpoint located on the Bolsillo del Diablo hill. Another popular spot is Santo Domingo, which also has dunes similar to those in Conache but slightly higher. While it may lack in landscapes, it is a precise location for practicing this sport.

The lagoon is located forty minutes from the city of Trujillo. The path to the lagoon involves a short 10-minute walk from the town of Conache. Entry to the site is only allowed upon presentation of a ticket costing s/2.00, and visits are permitted from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
