The best season to visit and navigate the rapids of the Tumbes River is between the months of May and October. This river flows through a protected area in Tumbes, so access to the site requires authorization from the relevant authorities.
To reach the rapids, entering through the Tumbes Reserved Zone, it is necessary to travel a route that typically takes between two and three days to complete.
