Peru has more than a dozen rivers that flow through its diverse regions: coast, highlands, and jungle. The five longest rivers cover almost 7000 km within the country. The force of the water in some rivers allows for the practice of canoeing or rafting, as is the case with the Huarpa River. This river is very emblematic for the regional culture of the Ayacucho area, as the Huarpa culture takes its name in reference to it.
