Whitewater Rafting in Cotahuasi River

The province of La Unión, in Arequipa, has to offer adrenaline-seeking tourists a fantastic river, ideal for whitewater rafting, and that is the Cotahuasi River, which features rapids of level III and IV.

The best season to navigate the Cotahuasi rapids is between the months of April to October, and if you want to be part of an adventure festival in the area, it is suggested to visit the place in May when the Cotahuasi Adventure Festival is celebrated.

The rafting circuit on this river starts in Antabamba and has an average length of fifteen kilometers where the initial route is suitable for everyone. As the river progresses, after those 15 km, you reach an area with level III and IV rapids, for those with some experience.
