Diving in Pucusana

Diving in Pucusana is an incredible adventure sport; immersing yourself in its waters is an experience you will never forget. You will fill yourself with positive energy and, above all, you will want to relive this adventure in the south of Lima.

There are 2 basic rules for practicing this sport, in addition to safety equipment: having great enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards nature. During this journey, you will encounter a variety of marine species such as fish, crabs, seahorses, starfish, sea lions, etc. Additionally, on the surface, you can observe animals such as pelicans, cormorants, tendrils, and the famous blue-footed booby.

Where is this adventure sport practiced

One of the places where you can practice this adventure sport is at Las Ninfas beach, located in the district of Pucusana. It is a place where a person without experience can start diving. The waters are calm, resembling a huge pool where fish often swim alongside you. However, if you want to see a greater variety of species, you should head further into the sea, near Pucusana Island, where you can have the great experience of coexisting with incredible species that inhabit the beautiful natural forest.

Distance

The diving distance depends on whether the person has a PADI diving certificate, which is required. If the person has this, they can dive to more than 30 meters; and if they do not have these certificates, it is advisable not to dive more than 8 meters.

Level

Suitable for all individuals over 13 years old, with basic swimming knowledge.

Time

You will sail by boat for about 10 minutes to reach the diving point; the immersion time in the sea depends on the agency or academy providing the services.
