Colan Beach
Description
Colán is one of the oldest towns (and beaches) in Latin America, dating back to 1840. Colan is located in the Department of Piura, specifically in the Province of Paita. It is known for practicing water sports such as Windsurfing, Kitesurfing.
Its beach stretches for 20km, with very fine sand and the water temperature is usually warm. The best recommendation to enter the sea at Colan and avoid encountering stingrays and marine animals is to enter when the tide is HIGH and walk in dragging your feet.

How to Get to Colan Beach
If you wish to travel by Public Transport, head to the Gechisa Terminal in the city of Piura. This journey will take 45 minutes to Paita, then take a taxi to Colan and you will arrive in approximately 20 minutes.
By private transport, the journey is shorter, and you will arrive in Colan in 40 minutes.
