Songos

Songos is a hamlet located at kilometer 63 on the Central Highway, in the Lima highlands, known for its waterfalls and natural slides. This place is ideal for adventure tourism, with activities such as trekking and canyoning, adventures that are truly a great challenge.

Location

Many have wondered Where is Songos? Songos is located at kilometer 63 on the Central Highway, in the district of San Jerónimo de Surco, in the province of Huarochirí, department of Lima.

Climate and Temperature

It has a dry, sunny climate between the months of April to November, with a rainy season from December to March. It has a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum of 28°C.

Altitude

Songos is located just over 2100 meters above sea level.

How to get to Songos

The route to follow has two parts:

To Chosica:

• From Lima Direct: We must take a public transport bus called Chosicano, which travels along the Central Highway, with an approximate travel time of 2 and a half hours, at an approximate cost of S/. 3.00. Boarding is done at Av. Paseo Colon, near Parque de la Exposición.
• From Lima - Chosica: The first step is to take a shared taxi heading to Chosica, this service can be found at the intersection of Plaza Bolognesi and Av. Paseo Colón. The approximate cost is S/. 8.00. Now, heading to Songos: Make sure you are dropped off at the Arica stop, where there are cars going to Matucana or San Mateo, although our destination is not located here, Songos is just a few minutes before.

In Songos, there are impressive waterfalls, such as Pucará and Trenza de la Abuela, named for its 3 waterfalls.

Songos Slides

Songos Slides is a waterfall, named for the steep rocks that make the place an incredible natural slide in the hamlet of Songos. They have a height of over 10 meters. Its waters descend in a zigzag shape of different thicknesses until falling into a refreshing pool of water, where Peruvian and foreign tourists come to experience the adventure of sliding down the natural slides of Songos.
