Bungee Jumping: Recommendations and Safety Measures
Did you know that bungee jumping is a low-risk sport, as long as you know how to do it properly? Generally, the opposite is thought. However, the former does not mean that you should not take the necessary precautions. On the contrary. Here are some safety measures and recommendations that you should take before taking the big leap, and you must ensure that they are rigorously followed before facing or backing into the void.

Some safety measures:

A bad jump

This is the greatest risk, especially if you are a beginner, nerves can play a trick on you. When it's time to jump with the harness around your waist and facing the void, do not lean back. The latter could injure your waist.

Untested bridge

Make sure that the bridge from which you are going to jump is not only suitable for this adventure sport, but has been tested before. Remember that the ideal bridge for bungee jumping, in terms of height, should be more than twice its own width.

Regarding the ropes

When bungee jumping, make sure there is no excess rope, especially on bridges of unusual heights, as the former would only affect both the material used and yourself who wish to practice this adventure sport.

Another important point regarding the ropes is that the tensions of the ropes do not match. Remember that there should only be a single rope supporting you at the moment of the jump. The latter helps soften the fall. And to finish with the ropes, there must be a correct installation to prevent you from hitting a side or the rope from breaking.

Some Recommendations:

Weight and age

If you want to practice this adventure sport, you should not weigh more than 100 kilos and be between 18 and 55 years old. However, children under 12 years old can also practice bungee jumping, as long as they have their parents' permission, and they must weigh at least 38 kilos. It goes without saying that both groups must be physically fit to engage in this activity.

Type of clothing to wear

To bungee jump, you will need to wear pants that are not too short so that the harness does not bother you, and a long-sleeved high-necked shirt. This way, you will avoid any friction. In addition, wear gloves to avoid any rubbing and friction with the ropes to be used.

Zero energy drinks and toxic substances

You cannot consume any type of energy drink before or during this adventure sport. Much less and it is more than obvious, you cannot take toxic substances either.

Finally, remember that when bungee jumping, you must jump only if you are given permission. Doing otherwise would only mean breaking the rules and the clear explanations of the person guiding you so that you can finally make "the leap." If you take the necessary precautions and corresponding safety measures, nothing should go wrong.

Practicing this adventure sport will take all the stress off you and you will experience new sensations and, of course, a great adrenaline rush.
