Hello adventurers, I bring you news!! For the first time, a Peruvian will compete in the first edition of the World Va'a Championships - Long Distance, in Tahiti, French Polynesia, in June 2017.
The 22-year-old Peruvian Zackary Chavez Tafur, who won first place in V1 at the national competition a month ago, will participate in the Va'a Marathon World Championship.

Originating from Polynesia, they used canoes for fishing, as a means of transportation, communication, and commercial routes between the islands that make up what is now known as French Polynesia. Today, it has evolved into a sport that is gaining enthusiasts worldwide.
EVENT - World Va'a Championships - Long Distance 2017
The first edition of the World Va'a Championships (Polynesian Canoes) - Long Distance, 2017 will be organized by the IVF (International Va'a Federation). Two more events will also take place. The first is TE AITO, a long-distance individual V1 canoe competition, and El HEIVA, a cultural event that also includes Va'a.
