Exploring Paradise

In the month of February, despite the rains in the highlands of our country, we ventured to embark on this epic bike ride. Equipped with our newly purchased helmets, backpacks, and bicycles, we set off on this adventure full of great moments. Our original destination was Laraos; however, the desire to explore Huancaya won us over, which is why we arrived there first. The change was worth it. Impressive waterfalls crowned our adventurous spirit. The following day brought, what for me, the highlight of this route: descending from Huancaya to Llapay passing through Vitis and Laguna Piquecocha. Good brakes and strong arms are needed to keep the handlebars steady during this adrenaline-packed descent. As expected, we couldn't leave without visiting Laraos, so we took a transport that in 20 minutes took us to this wonderful village surrounded by its beautiful terraces. After lunch and a well-deserved rest, we began the descent to the main road. This stretch is 100% paved, allowing for even greater speed and more extreme fun. We finished the journey in San Jerónimo as daylight had completely faded. Luckily, a truck gave us a free ride in the back to Cañete. From there, our return journey to Lima by bus began.
