Description
The closest Puya forest to Lima is located in the Santa Eulalia river basin, 85km from the capital. To reach this place, you can take buses to Vicas at Echenique Park. After passing through Santa Eulalia, the Huinco Hydroelectric Plant, and the Autisha Bridge, you will arrive at this settlement. From there, you will hike an ascending route of 8km, passing through the villages of Huachupampa, San Pedro de Casta, and the famous Markahuasi Plateau.
Ka Titanka or Puya Raimondi Harms belongs to the bromeliad family, with this being the largest species. These plants can live up to a hundred years, reaching heights of up to 15 meters in their inflorescence.
