🗺️ Itinerary

DAY 01: LIMA – CITY TOUR - HUARAZ
After breakfast, you will be picked-up for a group visit of colonial and modern Lima, starting in the center of this vibrant, metropolis. The tour will include a visit of the cathedral, dating from 1654 which also has the tomb of the Spanish Conquistador Francisco Pizarro. The Main Square, with the original bronze fountain built in 1650, the Government Palace, where the President has his official residence and the San Francisco Convent, with its famous catacombs. Lima, known as the City of the Kings, was founded in 1535 by Pizarro and after several devastating earthquakes was rebuilt in 1991; the same year that UNESCO declared Lima a world heritage site. In the afternoon, you will enjoy an afternoon sightseeing around Miraflores. Then we will take you to bus station to Huaraz.

DAY 02: HUARAZ - VICOS(B/L/D)
Pick up by the bus station and transfer to Vicos. Reception and accommodation. We can drink the typical mate de coca and different medicinal herbs. We can walk around of the community to know how they plant for acclimatization. Then we can prepare an indigenous bread. Overnight.

DAY 03: VICOS – EXPERIMENTAL TOURISM (B/L/D)
This day we walk around the town and we are introduced to the school, the artisans. We learn about the medicinal herbs, small trekking. You can share tales with the community. Overnight.

DAY 04: VICOS - HUARAZ (B/L)
This day we prepare Pachamanca, we are in all process. We are accompanied all the time by the typical music until you leave. Then we do an earth´s tribute and return to Huaraz. Overnight.
DAY 05: HUARAZ –SANTA CRUZ TREK (Huaraz (3,100 m) / Cashapampa / Ichiccocha lagoon (3,900 m)
Departing very early in a private minivan, we will go to the North of the City of Huaraz visiting the indigenous villages of the Callejón de Huaylas and then we will arrive at the town of Cashapampa (aprox. 3 hours) At donkey driver and the donkeys will be fed and loaded with your equipment, we will begin the trek through a narrow valley at the beginning very close to the white river until arriving at the Ichiccocha camp, height 3,900 m (approx. 3 to 4 hours)

DAY 06: SANTA CRUZ TREK (Ichiccocha / Arhuaycocha lagoon/ Taullipampa (4,250 m)
This day we will continue with the trek, passing through the beautiful lagoons of Jatuncocha and Arhuaycocha, enjoying the spectacular scenery of the south face of the glacier covered Alpamayo and other peaks that surround us such as Artezonraju, Taulliraju, Quitaraju and then we will arrive at the Taullipampa camp height 4,250 m (approx. 4 to 5 hours).

DAY 07: SANTA CRUZ TREK (Taullipampa / Punta Union pass (4,750 m) / Cachinapampa (3,600 m)
After breakfast we will continue with the trek and begin to climb up to the Punta Unión pass (4750 m), where we will be among the panoramic peaks of the Cordillera Blanca and the Santa Cruz and Huaripampa valleys, then descend to the Cachinapampa camp, height 3600 m (approx. 6 or 7 hours)

DAY 08: SANTA CRUZ TREK – HUARAZ – LIMA (Cachinapampa / Vaquería / Portachuelo Pass (4,765 m) / Yungay/ Huaraz)
In the morning we will pack up and walk through the community of Huaripampa until we reach Vaquería (2 hours). The muleteers say goodbye to us and return to Cashapampa; We will proceed in a private minivan passing through the pass of Portachuelo de Llanganuco (4,765 m) where we will make a short stop to enjoy the picturesque panorama of the stretch of mountains and valleys of the Cordillera Blanca, then descend through the Llanganuco ravine visiting the lagoons Orconcocha and Chinancocha. Then we will return to the city of Huaraz. Afterwards, a short break you will transfer to the bus station that will take you back to Lima.

DAY 09: LIMA
Pick you up in Lima and transfer to the Hotel or Airport (Optional).
